The dream affair between The Undertaker and Goldberg finally became a reality on last night’s Super ShowDown. The main event of the night started with a staredown between the two legends. Goldberg was the one to start taunting the Phenome by doing his throat-slashing stunt. He followed up with two back to back spears on his opponent for a near fall. The fight continued at outside as The Myth went for a third spear only to bust himself open against the barricade.

The Undertaker capitalized on it performing some of his legendary moves followed by the chokeslam-tombstone piledriver combo. But Goldberg kicked out of that to the disbelief of the Deadman. Sooner, ‘Taker performed the Snakes’ Eye on him followed by a big boot but Goldberg countered with another spear followed by the Jackhammer. Undertaker kicked out of it but Goldberg could barely move after that.

So Undertaker had to pick him up and deliver a huge chokeslam to get the pinfall victory. The finish of the match might have disappointed some of the fans. But it is always good to see legendary names like Undertaker or Goldberg to come for a one-off match to entertain the fans. After all, they are the original old school wrestling legends.
WWE provided us with the headliner of Super ShowDown, weeks ago that was a dream match for the fans. The Undertaker vs. Goldberg was the announced lineup in a match that should have happened a long time ago. These two are bonafide legends from the Attitude Era who ruled their respective brands, during their heyday. However, for some reasons, WWE failed to bring them together in the squared circle. So WWE.com hyped up their first meeting,
“At WWE Super ShowDown, The Deadman will rise to step in the path of the uncontrollable force that is Goldberg for the first time ever. The Demon of Death Valley will step out of the darkness to face the unknown against WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg, who is returning for the first time since battling Brock Lesnar in a Universal Title Match at WrestleMania 33. The collision between the two legendary combatants promises to be one of the top matches of the year.”
In the end, it was The Undertaker who stood tall by the end of the match defeating Goldberg, fair and square. This was his first win after beating John Cena at Wrestlemania 34 in 2018. As for Goldberg, he did not wrestle ever since the Universal title match against Brock Lesnar. He is likely to go back to retirement life after digesting this loss at Super ShowDown.
