For the first time in six long years, WWE returned to India to host a special live event billed as Superstar Spectacle 2023. With John Cena inserted into the card, the event was hyped more than ever. The top WWE Superstars from the Raw roster performed in front of a live Indian audience last night to bring in an entertaining show.
Check out the recap and results from the Superstar Spectacle 2023 live event that went down at the GMC Balayogi Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad, India,
– Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn defeated Indus Sher (Veer and Sanga) in a tag team match via DQ. Judgment Day was once advertised in this match that was supposed to be a title bout but eventually, the originally advertised lineup was retained.
Jinder Mahal interfered in the match which brought out Drew McIntyre to make the save. The match was thereby restarted as a six-man tag team action where Drew McIntyre, Kevin Owens, and Sami Zayn defeated Jinder Mahal, Veer, and Sanga in the opening encounter of Superstar Spectacle 2023.
After the match, Matt Riddle came out to celebrate with McIntyre, Owens, and Zayn after the match. McIntyre, Riddle, Sami, and Jinder also danced after the match, while Veer, Sanga, and Owens looked on from outside.
– Natalya defeated Zoey Stark in a single contest. Originally, Becky Lynch was scheduled to compete against Stark but she didn’t make it to Superstar Spectacle 2023 due to passport issues.
– Intercontinental Championship Match: Gunther (c) defeated Indian talent Shanky to retain his championship.
– Former NXT Champion Bron Breakker defeated Odyssey Jones.
– WWE Hall of Famer The Great Khali was in attendance at Superstar Spectacle 2023 and the audience was happy to have him back. He teased having one more match in the WWE.
Superstar Spectacle 2023: Natalya competed in two matches
– Women’s World Championship Match: Rhea Ripley (c) defeated Natalya Neidhart to retain her title. Being a true workhorse, Natalya pulled off double duties on the show by competing in two matches to compensate for Becky Lynch’s absence.
– John Cena and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins defeated Imperium (Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci) in a tag team match in the main event of Superstar Spectacle 2023. The end saw both the men hitting their respective finishers to earn a double pin-fall win. Cena cut a promo to send the show off-air.
