WWE: TLC PPV 2017 Match Card, Preview & Prediction

Since its innovation back in 2009, WWE TLC PPV had always been scheduled in December.

This year, for the first-time-ever, it is being held two months early as part of a brand-exclusive event on behalf of WWE Raw brand. It will be the ninth event under the Tables, Ladders and Chairs PPV chronology.

To some extent, the match card of this year’s WWE TLC event is quite flat. Plus, some superstar’s illness has affected the match card, as well. The only highlight of the show is the returning Shield faction competing at the main event of the night. Apart from that, there’s only one match featuring the male superstars from the main roster. Plus, apart from the Shield’s match, there’s no more match on the card with the TLC stipulation attached.

It would affect the show to a certain extent, for sure. However, the nostalgia of The Shield getting back together will be able to make this event a success. Plus, Kane getting added to the match added a whole new complexion to the bout. The WWE network exclusive event will go down from the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Check out the full match card with predictions, here:

Sasha Banks vs Alicia Fox (Kick-off show)
Prediction: This match was added to the card to fill up the kick-off show card with a backstage altercation on Raw. The crowd cares the least about this one bout which is even repetitive. Foxy is a no-competition to the agility that Banks bring to the table, and hence the Boss will pick up an easy win.

Finn Bálor vs AJ Styles
Prediction: With no storyline being involved, this will be a random cross-brand match. Considering that this is a Raw-exclusive PPV, Balor should gain the upper-hand against the Phenomenal One. Also, the Demon King persona will be competing in this match which means, the creative team is likely to protect him.

Cedric Alexander and Rich Swann vs Jack Gallagher and The Brian Kendrick
Prediction: This impromptu matchup also came up as a filler for the TLC PPV match card. For quite sometimes, Gallagher and Kendrick have formed a heel team on 205 Live show. They are going strong at this moment. Hence, this momentum should get retained on their favour by giving a win. So, they are the favourites to come out as the victorious team.

Asuka vs Emma
Prediction: Asuka’s debut is a much-anticipated one for the WWE Universe. She is expected to bring a freshness to the Raw Women’s division. There’s no doubt about her victory in this match. Emma was fed to be the first victim of Asuka, as we expect a dominant win for the Empress of Tomorrow.

Alexa Bliss (c) vs Mickie James (WWE Raw Women’s Championship)
Prediction: It was indeed good to see Mickie James back into the championship picture for TLC. The veteran superstar needed this chance to show that she still got it. However, at this juncture, there’s no way that she is going to dethrone a strong champion in Alexa Bliss. The champion is expected to retain by pulling off some dirty tricks.

Kalisto (c) vs Enzo Amore (WWE Cruiserweight Championship)
Prediction: Despite Kalisto being a brand new champion, we can expect a title switch in this match. Enzo is still considered to be the one who sells the 205 Live show. He was able to ally with the heel superstars on the Cruiserweight show to look stronger. It might benefit him heading into the match, as he looks forward to regaining the title and might snatch it from the Masked Luchador.

Dean Ambrose, Kurt Angle, Seth Rollins vs The Miz, Braun Strowman, Kane, Cesaro, Sheamus (Tables, Ladders and Chairs match)
Prediction: The Shield will get their ideal environment to compete in a TLC match which is going to be a chaotic one, and nobody knows how to thrive under these circumstances better than them. It will be interesting to see how the replacement of Roman Reigns, Kurt Angle can adjust to the Shield-style. Despite the main event of TLC being a 3-on-5 handicap match, the Hounds of Justice is expected to pick up a big win in their returning match. They will go forward to team up at the upcoming big event of Survivor Series with Reigns rejoining them.
