Kevin Owens had an interesting character change on Smackdown Live that left the pro-wrestling fanatics buzzing about it. He turned into a babyface dropping a pipe-bomb on the show towards Shane McMahon. The rant continued even at Extreme Rules PPV, too. Basically, he had let all of the frustrations out of his stomach towards the authority figure leading him to cut off the mic.

Even security figures ran down to the ring to keep Kevin Owens away from the scene. He had to leave the building for time being only for coming back by the end of the show. Shane McMahon received a stunner by him that pretty much guaranteed a future match between the two of them. Recent reports suggested that it will happen at the 32nd episode of Summerslam.

Wrestling Observer clearly pointed out the fact that WWE is setting up a Kevin Owens vs. Shane McMahon for the biggest party of the summer. Owens basically wanted to keep Shane McMahon away from the scene who is consuming a lot of TV times. This match at Summerslam may out an end to this as carried in the below excerpts by ringsidenews.com,

“The Wrestling Observer Newsletter stated that timing-wise this feud seems to sync up with Summerslam. It would be interesting to see Kevin Owens vs Shane McMahon at Summerslam, but we’ve already seen those two battle in a Hell In A Cell match in the past only the heel and babyface roles were reversed.”

As mentioned here, Kevin Owens has become a new favorite for the WWE Universe after standing behind them for a cause. Shane McMahon has recently become an absolute pain for the audience making regular appearances on both WWE Raw or Smackdown. This needs to stop and who better to do so than the Prizefighter who is on a mission to become the modern-day Stone Cold Steve Austin in WWE?

As the Summerslam match seems evident for Kevin Owens against Shane McMahon, it would once again consume the spot for a young superstar. Shane getting another match in a PPV means that WWE creative team just can’t get rid of the younger McMahon when it comes to bigger pay-per-view. Hopefully, though, this should be the last match for McMahon for sometimes as WWE may keep him off the board for sometimes.
