WWE: What to Expect from this Week’s Smackdown Live: May 1, 2018

The main event from the Smackdown Live brand is all set for Backlash. The WWE Championship will be on the line.

The Greatest Royal Rumble event is over leaving a plethora of things to be addressed on Smackdown Live.

Tonight’s edition will not be on those situations when the show comes on air. The general manager, Paige will be back ‘in her house’ to settle things. Last week, unusual things happened on the show in her absence.

Meanwhile, tonight’s Smackdown Live is going to be the go home episode for the Backlash PPV event.

So, the final hype ups will also be seen. WWE has already confirmed the prime title matches on the show providing more contents to the show. This week’s edition will take place at the Bell Center in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

The main event from the Smackdown Live brand is all set for Backlash. The WWE Championship will be on the line between AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura for one more time.

For the past few weeks, the challenger was in firm control of the situation hitting numerous low blows to the champion.

The champion was finally able to fire back with some chair-shots on Nakamura’s back. Tonight, we expect him to keep it going to head into the next PPV event with the momentums being on his side. We expect to see one final face-off between Styles and Nakamura once Smackdown airs, tonight.

Another feud that is getting heated up is between Daniel Bryan and Big Cass. At the Greatest Royal Rumble PPV, Cass turned out to be the only reason that Bryan was robbed from winning the match even after setting a record of spending one hour and 16 minutes in it.

Needless to say, Daniel Bryan will intend to go right after Cass to seek redemption, tonight. Meanwhile, the final buildup will also be seen in the women’s championship picture.

Last week on Smackdown, it was Charlotte Flair who stood tall by shoving Carmella’s head off into the table. This week, the latter one will intend to return the favour, for sure. A six-woman tag team contest was confirmed for Smackdown where Carmella will team up with the IIconics against the trio of Charlotte, Asuka, and Becky Lynch.

Also, the United States Championship match should be made official for Backlash. Randy Orton still owes a rematch after losing the title at Wrestlemania. He should be given the opportunity against Jeff Hardy at the Backlash PPV. These two already had confrontations around the last couple of weeks. Tonight, Jeff is scheduled to feature on The Miz TV where the upcoming match should be addressed.
