Arindam Paul / 17 January 2018

Last night’s WWE Smackdown witnessed a packed main event between Bobby Roode and Jinder Mahal to crown a new United States Champion. As stated previously, the finale of the show will take place at the Royal Rumble PPV. However, last night, the general manager preponed the match, all of a sudden.

With the match happening, we received a new United States Champion while ending the show. He is none other than the Glorious Bobby Roode. Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon joined the ring to celebrate with the new champion while closing the main show of Smackdown Live.

It is to be noted that there was no dark segment stored on last night’s show, as the Mixed Match Challenge was scheduled at the Laredo Energy Center. So, no non-televised edition was not reserved for the fans in attendance. Instead, they witness a good mixed tag team match where Sasha Banks and Finn Balor took on Shinsuke Nakamura and Natalya.

The Balor Club turned out to be victorious by the help from the Boss of the WWE. They were seen celebrating in the backstage segment on the fallout show. They were pretty confident to win the contest after reaching to the next round. Also, they sounded pretty excited to be part of history by launching a live show on Facebook.

Apart from that, Charlotte Flair geared up for her upcoming Mixed Match Challenge contest in which she will be teaming up with the Glorious One, Bobby Roode. Since he has won the first singles title of his career, the Queen of the WWE wished him with the heartiest congratulations.

Also, the night became even more Glorious on the Smackdown fallout show with the new champion noting on winning the United States Championship. He expressed his excitement about winning this prestigious title held by numerous Hall of Famers. Later, Bobby was also seen doing his first photo shoot with the title around his shoulder to end the night.
