Wrestlemania 38 Night One was headlined by The KO Show hosted by Kevin Owens with the special guest, WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin. It ended up being a match between the two as they duked it out in a No Hold Barred contest. Previously, the Smackdown Women’s Title match between Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair was supposed to be the main event which was not the case.

Following Wrestlemania 38, rumors went viral about Rousey possibly being angry after losing the main event status. However, the challenger in that match responded to rumors about her state of mind after hours passed of that match. Per her words, she’s not upset over the placement of her match on Saturday night’s event card.

“I don’t know where these ‘reports’ come from but it was an absolute honor to perform under Steve Austin at Wrestlemania in Texas,” Rousey tweeted about her match at Wrestlemania 38. “I wasn’t [at] (the WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony) because I have a six month old baby I had to put to sleep early. People are literally creating drama out of thin air.”

Ronda Rousey hoped to main-event Wrestlemania 38 Night One

As noted, Stone Cold Steve Austin defeated Kevin Owens in an impromptu No Holds Barred match in the main event of WrestleMania 38 Night One while Ronda Rousey’s match was the second from the top of the card. Rousey previously won the Women’s Royal Rumble match and challenged Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship and thereby earning the main-event spot.

People speculated that she’d be legit unhappy over how WWE snatched her headlining spot and gave it to Austin. However, that’s not the case. Flair ended up winning that match, handing Rousey’s first-ever singles loss in WWE.

On a related note, it should be mentioned how there was always confusion about the headliner segment of Wrestlemania 38 Night One. Ronda Rousey indicated during an interview with the Ellen Show that she expected her match against Flair to be the main event,

“I’m gonna be in the main event for the second time. I was the – part of the first main event with women and this is now the third. So, it’s becoming almost something that doesn’t need to be mentioned anymore, which is the goal.”
