It appears that WWE has a brand new opponent for Asuka at Clash of Champions 2020 PPV in the form of Zelina Vega. The potential challenger is a social media queen who less wrestles on WWE Raw and spends most of the time on social media. Her scorching pictures on Instagram and appearances on twitch make her an internet sensation. Now she may be up for a sudden title opportunity at the upcoming PPV event.
Last night’s “In Your Face” edition of WWE RAW saw Asuka retaining the RAW Women’s Title over Mickie James in an awkward finish. James never tapped out to the Asuka Lock but the referee rang the bell and informed that she’s in no condition to continue. After this, Zelina Vega came out in what appears to be WWE’s way to introduce the champion to her next challenger.

Zelina Vega took a mic and started ranting about how she’s been thinking of her future. She has wasted some of the best years of her career, managing two selfish ingrates like Andrade and Angel Garza. She mentioned how Asuka was handed the title by one of the greatest of all-time, Mickie James.

She said Asuka has been so worried about the Superstars of yesterday while ignoring one of the greatest of today in Zelina Vega. Vega added that she’s here to tell Asuka’s she’s ready for the title. Asuka said something in her face but Vega took a shot at her that dropped her with a slap. Asuka tried to take a shot back but Vega exited the ring, taunting her from ringside.
The hyped James vs. Asuka title match ended with an awkward finish that via referee stoppage while Asuka had the Asuka Lock applied. We wonder whether this could be setting up for a rematch.
However, after the post-match segment, it looks like Zelina Vega must be the next in line one to challenge Asuka for the title at Clash of Champions. On a related note, RAW also featured a segment where Vega walked out on Andrade and Angel Garza after declaring that she was tired hearing them arguing, all the time.
Following this, she confronted Asuka after the win over James and declared to be back to competition. It looks like WWE is now interested to use this hottie in the title picture instead of using her as a manager.
