India meduim pacer Ishant Sharma has been dropped from India‘s squads for Asia Cup and T20 World Cup in Bangladesh. The National Selection Committee which met in Bangalore also axed middle-order batsman and MS Dhoni’s confidate Suresh Raina from the squad announced for Asia Cup, but has been retained for World T20 next month. Suresh Raina will be replaced by Cheteshwar Pujara for Asia Cup.

Selectors named the Indian team for the two big events on Tuesday and took a fair look at India’s dismal performance in the ODI leg of the tour of New Zealand.

While Ishant was penalised for his poor performance in the ODI series, where he picked up just two wickets in two matches, Raina too has also been out of form – averaging 28 from three matches on the tour which concluded earlier this month.
