IPL 2014 : Best bowling figures in IPL 7 – There have been scores as high as 206 and also as low as 70. Runs weren’t easy to score in UAE, especially the boundaries which were very long and a slow outfield. Bowlers got a good pitch to bowl and other other things proved to be an advantage for them. Some bowlers were hit out of the park whereas some were also able to strangle the batting line up of the opposition. Let’s take a look at the list of bowlers with best bowling figures in an innings in IPL 7 –
Name | Bowling figures (O-M-R-W) | Opposition | Ground | Match Date |
Lakshmipathy Balaji (KXIP) | 4-0-13-4 | SRH | Sharjah | 22 April 2014 |
Mohit Sharma (CSK) | 4-0-14-4 | MI | Dubai (DSC) | 25 April 2014 |
Sunil Narine (KKR) | 4-0-20-4 | MI | Abu Dhabi | 16 April 2014 |
Pravin Tambe (RR) | 4-0-20-4 | RCB | Abu Dhabi | 26 April 2014 |
Lasith Malinga (MI) | 4-0-23-4 | KKR | Abu Dhabi | 16 April 2014 |
Ravindra Jadeja (CSK) | 4-0-33-4 | RR | Dubai (DSC) | 23 April 2014 |
Balaji’s performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad has been the best performance in this season of IPL so far. So far in the present season of IPL no bowler has been able to take 5 or more wickets but with matches now being conducted in India and 40 more matches to go, one can expect better bowling performances. Turning pitches in India will be huge help for the spinners but shorter boundaries would also negate the advantage upto an extent.
