With Indian Premier League (IPL) about to begin, the IPL Governing Council has announced the schedule for the remaining 40 matches including 4 Play-offs games that all of these will be held in India itself. The IPL will return to India from May 2nd after completion of the 1st leg matches which will be taking place in UAE (United Arab Emirates). Earlier the 1st leg matches schedule was released of 20 games which will be held in UAE.
Every Team will now be playing 9 games in India off which 4 games at least will be at their home. Considering the travelling from UAE no matches were scheduled on May 1st. Which means the 2nd and final leg of IPL which will be back to India begins on May 2nd with Game between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at JSCA International Stadium, Ranchi. Keeping an eye on General election’s result dates, the Governing Council hasn’t scheduled any matches on 16th May, Friday and 17th May, Saturday.
There were two changes done to earlier schedule as the 26th April evening match between KKR and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) will be considered as KKR’s home game. Similarly, match on 28th April between KXIP and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) considered as KXIP’s home match.
Due to scheduling that each team getting four games at home, two matches of CSK have been scheduled at Ranchi stadium and KXIP’s two games will be at Cuttack’s Barabati Stadium. In this process Rajasthan Royals will be playing four of their 9 matches in India at Sardar Patel Stadium, Ahmedabad.
