The popularity of game of the Cricket can be attributed as much as to the commentary as the game itself. In the Indian cricket we have some quality commentators who are best among the world. So now we look at the Top 5 commentators from India

1. Ravi Shastri

Ravi Shastri , a popular Indian cricketer made his debut as TV commentator with World Masters tournament in 1995. He is the commentator with the Indian Premier League for 7 years, being broadcasted by Sony Max. His famous words –‘down the ground’, ‘that all over’s’, ‘we are here for toss’ makes him special. His voice is so strong that it attracts the audience.  His personality and influence shows on the Indian players. He was commentating on the matches in India and also outside India. Since he was appointed as the director of the Indian cricket team until 2015 World cup we miss his commentary.

2. Harsha Bhogle

Harsha Bhogle is one of the famous commentators from India. An MBA from IIM Ahmedabad  is one of the attractive commentators, but not played the game for the country, He does commentary inside and outside the country. His recent commentary stint was in England tour of India in 2014. He began his carrier as a commentator at the age of 19 with All India Radio. Harsha Bhogle has been covering the Indian Premier League since 2009. He has hosted several quiz programmes like Harsha Unplugged, School Quiz Olympiad for ESPN and Star sports. He comes as anchor in pre and post match analysis with some other experts like Sanjay Manjekar, Arun Lal.  He makes the art and skill of the commentary so easy that the audience loves to hear him.

3. Sunil Gavaskar

Sunil Gavaskar played for India as an opening batsman during the 1970’s and 1980’s. He is now popular commentator both in Hindi and English. His knowledge about cricket and the way a he crictizes cricketer makes him special. He was a part of the commentary team which went to England recently. He is regular commentator with Harsha Bhogle, Ian Bishop. He was a member of the commentating team that was responsible for the India and Sri Lanka series. He sometimes does commentary in domestic matches in India. Youngsters like can learn from him a lot.

4 Arun Lal

Arun Lal is a retired Indian cricketer and now a cricket commentator. He commentates in Hindi and English broadcasted by Star Sports3. He uses some excellent words which attracts the audience. He is an expert analyst before and after the matches.  He hails from Kolkatta. Now a days he is a part of commentating team with Rohan Gavaskar, Murali Karthik in Hindi.

5. Kapil Dev

Kapil Dev was the captain and member of the team who won the World Cup in 1983. He is the best all rounder India has produced so far. He is one of member commentary team  in Hindi on Star Sports 3. His contribution to Indian cricket has been great. He uses the knowledge of Cricket to explain the basics of the game to the viewers. He comes at pre and post match analysis.
