It was due to all the lacklustre storylines around Bray Wyatt which never gave him the push that he needed. Despite being launched as a monstrous heel persona surrounding with several other members of his family, it took him more than three years before he picked up a title in the WWE.
He became the WWE champion at Elimination Chamber 2017 which was a much-deserved one. But, the title would not hang around for a long time since Randy Orton took it away from him at Wrestlemania 33. Many of the WWE legends and the fans were upset to see his momentums getting ruined like this way.
Apparently, this was done since the creative was sure to send him to the flagship show after Wrestlemania. As a result, we have seen him getting drafted to Monday Night Raw with his feud against Randy Orton still going on.
According to the reports of Pro Wrestling Unlimited, Wyatt was deeply invested in this rivalry against Randy Orton which goes way back to last year’s summer. As posted in the video on the source’s Youtube channel, The Eater of the World was promised that this intensity between these two would go on to headline this year’s summer, as well.
The WWE championship would have been the focal point where he would regain the title from Randy. This would have been a milestone in his career to establish his legacy in the WWE.
But, now that he has been shifted to Raw, it is likely that he would end up losing the championship bout. WWE has already announced a House of Horrors match for the title will take place at the Payback PPV on April 30.
The source also stated that Bray was originally scheduled to win the title at Wrestlemania. But, the plans changed at the very last minute which was unfortunate for someone like him who is still to accomplish a lot in the WWE.
It is clear that the self-proclaimed God is the victim of yet another storyline blunder. This is why Stone Cold Steve Austin has said: “Bray should not go down as a big heel” in the history of the company after the way he was handled at Wrestlemania.
Well, we can only hope that big planning is reserved for him after moving to Raw. A program with the likes of Brock Lesnar or Finn Balor can certainly push his career forward.
