WWE Impact News: Bobby Lashley Wants Donald Trump His Cornerman At Slammiversary 1

There is a connection between the pro-wrestling industry and the president of the United States, Donald Trump. Before he decided to run for the president post, he used to be a business tycoon as well as a wrestling promoter. Since he and Vince McMahon’s friendship goes way back in the last decade, two Wrestlemania events were hosted at the Trump Plaza.

He also appeared in quite a few WWE televised shows i.e. Raw and the grandest event of the year, Wrestlemania. It was the 23rd anniversary of the show where a ‘hair vs. hair’ match took place between Donald Trump and Vince McMahon. In this match, these two did not compete. Rather, two representatives took part in the wrestling contest.

On behalf of Donald Trump, it was Bobby Lashley who defeated Umaga from McMahon’s side. Once the match was over, we have witnessed the epic moment where Stone Cold, Trump and Lashley shaved Vince McMahon’s hair and make him bald in front of the whole world.

Since Lashley did a favour to Trump by competing in the match, now he wants the POTUS to be present in his corner at the upcoming Slammiversary PPV in July. It is to remind you that after leaving WWE, Bobby Lashley headed to the Impact Wrestling promotion. He is the current world champion, there.

In the biggest event of the promotion, Slammiversary, he will take on Alberto Del Rio for his championship. It will mark the 15th anniversary of the event set to take place on July 2nd in Orlando, Florida. To hype the match stakes, Lashley took his Twitter handle and invited the President to the event.

This was in response to Alberto Del Rio’s earlier announcement by which he confirmed that the great Mexican wrestler, Dos Caras who is also his father will make his debut at Slammiversary. Caras will be present at ringside rooting for his son who now performs under the name of Alberto El Patron.

This is a great way for Impact Wrestling to garner the attention of the mainstream media by inviting the POTUS in the July-event. The company has published the following comments regarding the happening:

“IMPACT Wrestling World Champion Bobby Lashley made an unprecedented Presidential appeal on Thursday morning. Via Twitter, Lashley (@fightbobby) asked President Donald Trump to be in his corner for his title defence at Slammiversary on July 2, when Lashley puts the gold on the line against Alberto El Patron.”
