Team India skipper and batting hero Virat Kohli is on the verge of setting up yet another milestone under his belt on Wednesday evening, as the hosts would take on the ICC ranked number one New Zealand, in the series opener of the three-match Twenty20 series at Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi.

In fact, the two milestones are on the way to get added in Kohli’s illustrious cap who did not look back following remarkable performances with the bat from time-to-time.

The 28-year-old Delhi-based top-order batsman Kohli, who always wears heart on his sleeve, had has been in the prime form with the willow which further saw him emerging as one of the best batsmen across the cricketing globe owing to his determination and will and hunger to score the bulk of runs.

One Away from 200th T20I Four:

When Kohli would come out to bat at his home ground, he would need a single boundary – to register his 200th T20I four.

Moreover, with that feat, he would become the only third player to do so in the T20I format which includes Tillakaratne Dilshan (223) in 80 matches and gloveman Mohammad Shahzad from Afghanistan (200) in 58 games, respectively. So far, Kohli featured in 52 T20Is in which he smashed 199 boundaries and 35 sixes.

The prolific batsman Kohli amassed 1,852 runs in 48 innings at an average of 52.91.

Known for his remarkable shot selection and shouldering the responsibility, Kohli is just 36 runs away to go past the 7000-run mark in the professional T20 cricket.

However, the batsman would go past the milestone following his remarkable performances in the past widely-recognised Indian Premier League (IPL) season for his side.

In 223 professional T20 matches, Kohli scored 6,964 runs at an average of 40.72. He smashed 651 boundaries and 214 maximums in overall 210 innings so far.

All-set to become second highest run-getter in T20Is:

In the contemporary cricket, the right-handed batsman Kohli is just 38 runs away – to jump to second overall position in terms or individual runs in the top flight cricket in the history of T20I cricket.

Currently, the former Sri Lankan opening batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan is sitting at the second position with 1,889 runs after former New Zealand skipper and flamboyant batsman Brendon McCullum, who is topping the charts with 2,140 runs in 71 fixtures at an average of 35.66.
