Trinbago Knight Riders pulled off an exciting victory by four wickets chasing a massive score put in by Jamaica Tallawahs in CPL 2018.
Meanwhile, Jamaica’s trip to the USA hasn’t been good as they lost back to back matches. On Saturday, they lost to Guyana Amazon Warriors by 71 runs, and on Sunday, Trinbago, the defending champions, handed out another defeat to them.
Put to bat first; Jamaica Tallawahs posted 182 for the loss of five on the scoreboard. The last over of Trinbago Knight Rider’s chase began with seven needed. However, it went to the wire before Javon Searles hit Oshane Thomas for four to seal victory in the last ball. It was Jamaica’s second loss and Trinbago’s three wins in three games, putting both sides on six points.
Guyana Amazon Warriors, however, are top of the pile, on six points from four games, with Trinbago and Jamaica behind them.

Jamaica Tallawahs lost three wickets within nine overs at the score of 47. Khary Pierre, the left-arm spinner, picked up two wickets while Fawad Ahmed bagged one. Since then, Glenn Phillips and David Miller steadied the ship and then ignite it adding 112 runs.
The two batsmen kept the tempo up with some powerful shots from Miller and a lot of innovative ones from Phillips. However, Dwayne Bravo broke the partnership as Phillips departed for 80 from 55 balls. Miller carried on, ending the innings on an unbeaten 72 from 34 balls.
Meanwhile, Trinbago Knight Riders got off to the worst start possible losing three wickets for 28 runs within the powerplays. But Colin Munro was still in the middle, and with Darren Bravo alongside him, both started to revive the innings. The duo struck half-centuries and added 107 runs for the fourth wicket.

Bravo fell first scoring precisely 50 off 35 deliveries including five sixes. Munro fell shortly having put together a further 34 runs with Dwayne Bravo. Munro scored 67 in 51 balls with four fours and four sixes. When Jamaica Tallawahs’s Andre Russell removed him, Trinbago Knight Riders still needed 14 from eight balls.
Dwayne Bravo made is easy for Trinbago with a six to shift the game a bit more in his team’s favour. But when Thomas sent him back the third ball of the last over, it got tricky again. Searles, however, ensured that the result went Trinbago’s way.
