There are a lot of speculations going on about the status of Dolph Ziggler in the WWE. He appeared on TV for one last time on the December 31st edition of WWE Raw. Drew McIntyre defeated him in a devastating manner in a steel cage match to send him out of the context of Monday Nights. We have not seen or heard any news of him since then.
The Internet is constantly suggesting something about him which may not be good news for the WWE fans. Speculations are all over there hinting that he might be going away from the biggest pro-wrestling promotion of the world. This has not been a confirmed thing, yet but it might be true, going by the current consequences.
Dolph Ziggler changed his Twitter handle to the original name of Nic Nemeth. This is one of the biggest hints that he might have already made up his mind of going out of the big league. Concrete reasons are not available for this decision but his contract could be expiring soon by the end of January.
PWInsider.com pointed out something significant in this context. Dolph Ziggler was not present at backstage on this past episode of WWE Raw hosted from Oklahoma City. But he performed in a live event match earlier this week. Some of the future house shows are also advertising him that could be just to finish up the obligatory dates of the contract.
There’s no update either on his status for Royal Rumble 2019. Numerous regular roster members already entered the fray as always. But this veteran chose to stay away from the scene, to date. The host arena is also not advertising him at this point. But the former World Heavyweight Champion lives in Phoenix, Arizona.
So WWE could just add him at the very last moment to fill up the 30 superstars’ spot for men’s division Royal Rumble match. We should note that Dolph Ziggler dealt with the same uncertainty over his WWE career in 2018, too. Rumors were wild pointing out his departure when he entered the Royal Rumble surprising the world.
That could be the scene this year, too as he could come back targeting his former best friend, Drew McIntyre. For now, he is booked in a comedy show on that Royal Rumble night. It keeps his spot in jeopardy on January 27th. Dolph Ziggler also started selling his merchandise outside the WWE which is yet another reason to think that he is no longer interested to work here.
