There have been unbelievable things which quite often surprised the spectators. However, for veteran cricketer like MS Dhoni, such things have become a norm. While coming down the track to leg-spinner Adam Zampa, Dhoni did what he could have done by surviving a stumping. When India’s score was 75 for three in 11.2 overs, Dhoni has shown athleticism with the full split of 2.14 metre to make it to the crease before Peter Handscomb could whip off the zing bails. The incident took place during an ongoing second match of India vs Australia 2019 Twenty20 International (T20I) series in Bengaluru.

How it unfolded?

When Dhoni faced Zampa, who saw the former advancing down the ground only to opt for a widish delivery, however, Dhoni has shown his presence of mind on returning to the crease while stretching out uniquely. It is a rare sight in cricket.

Similarly, Dhoni did a split in November 2017 when India faced New Zealand. That time around, Dhoni was deceived by Mitchell Santner when Glenn Phillips was donning the gloves.

While many have criticised Dhoni for his slow innings at Vizag where he scored 37-ball 29, he has returned while proving he is fit enough to take opposition bowlers to the cleaners.

Also, the on-field umpires went upstairs to check whether ‘Mahi’ has made it to the crease in time or not. However, the TV replays suggested he stepped back into the crease well in time.

To talk further about MSD, he might be 37, but he has again reflected why the national selectors have backed him to don the national colours.

Meanwhile, Dhoni has struck a 23-ball 40 with the help of three sixes and as many boundaries at the strike-rate of 173.91.

Earlier, Aaron Finch has won the toss to opt to field first. India put up 190 for four with skipper Virat Kohli remaining unbeaten on 72 off just 38 deliveries. He slammed six sixes and two fours.

On the other side, Dinesh Karthik remained not out on eight off three balls. Earlier, KL Rahul gave India resounding start by scoring 26-ball 47. His innings was laced with three fours and four sixes.
