Review & Twitter Reactions From This Week’s WWE Smackdown: March 12, 2019 1

Smackdown opened this week with a fired-up promo from Shane McMahon. We all expected him to solidify his heel-turn from Fastlane which he did in great efforts. The moment where he caught Greg Hamilton by his face really portrayed him as one of the meanest heels. The story-telling in his feud against The Miz has been great, so far. So we expect a solid match between these two at Wrestlemania 35. Meanwhile, it will be great to see Shane on WWE TV as a heel.

The tag team division has really been heated up in the WWE with the inclusion of Aleister Black and Ricochet. They have been delivering great matches on a weekly basis be it on Raw or Smackdown. Last night was one of the rare occasions where these young guns got to share the ring with The Hardy Boyz. It was a fun encounter that also saw The New Day in the mix. The trio appeared at the end of the match to give buildup to Kofi’s Wrestlemania desire.

A romantic angle to begin on Smackdown

Randy Orton vs. AJ Styles o Smackdown has been years in the making. These two started the feud officially on a big note by cutting promo mentioning the career accolades of each other. Such real-life based heats often turn out to be useful when it comes to hyping up a rivalry. These two veterans can use this factor going forward. It’s only a matter of time that the Wrestlemania match gets official between them.

As for the women’s division on Smackdown, it’s really disappointing to see Asuka still waiting for her Wrestlemania opponent. The focus is more on Mandy Rose who could stay behind now that the biggest event is almost knocking on the door. Charlotte and Becky continued to take shots against each other regarding the women’s main event that is nothing new. But it did not make the situation getting dull, either.

Vince McMahon kept on pushing Kofi Kingston on Smackdown for the Wrestlemania title match. It will be a show-stellar Gauntlet match for Kofi when the next episode airs as he goes to battle against five names! As much as it seems impossible, the veteran should find a way out of the match with his hands raised. The Boss is garnering as many positive reactions possible for Kofi by putting barriers in front of him. This is why he is a genius.
