Dale Steyn is highly-likely going to strengthen the bowling department of depleted-looking Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), in the twelfth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2019). Steyn is expected to join the RCB camp at the earliest after replacing injured Nathan Coulter-Nile.

Meanwhile, Australian paceman Coulter-Nile has returned home after suffering from a back issue. On the other side, Coulter-Nile had missed initial games for RCB while doing his international duty for Australia against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates.

Earlier, the South African speedster has uploaded a picture of his passport on his social media account.

But he had removed the post of his passport before ESPNcricinfo revealed about his joining Virat Kohli-led RCB.

However, it’s altogether a blessing in disguise as RCB has so far lost six matches on the trot.

So far in his 90 IPL matches, the right-arm pacer has bagged 92 scalps to his name.

The ace cricketer Steyn has represented RCB between 2008 and 20011. He has bagged 27 wickets for the Bengaluru-based franchise. Also, he had a stint with Kane Williamson-led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Recently in Jaipur IPL Players’ Auctions, Steyn has gone unsold after setting up his base price of INR 1.5 crore.

He has partaken in the ninth edition of the IPL in 2016 for the now-defunct Gujarat Lions. However, then he played a solitary game before nursing an injury.

In 2017, he picked career-ending shoulder injury in Australia which further kept him away from the world’s most successful T20 league like IPL.

Again, in 2018, Steyn went unsold. However, on his road to recovery, Steyn has delivered well against Pakistan and then Sri Lanka in the international fold.

The pale-looking RCB team is languishing on the bottom of the IPL 2019 points table.

Meanwhile, RCB has a do-or-die encounter against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) on Saturday (IPL 2019).
