There is always a lot of anticipation for the World Cup clash between two heavyweights India and Pakistan. India and Pakistan will lock horns in the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019 on 16th June at Manchester. In fact, after recent political tension between the two countries, the big clash is going to be like a war for some people. However, Shoaib Malik believes that words like war should not be used in sports.
In fact, the match between India and Pakistan had come under scrutiny after the tension had risen between the two neighbours. Meanwhile, Shoaib Malik believes that the match against arch nemesis India is going to be just another match.
India and Pakistan don’t take on each other in a bilateral series but they do square swords with one other in the major ICC events.

“It’s my own opinion but the word ‘war’ is a very strange word to me. I don’t think it’s good to use that word – definitely not in sports,” Malik told Pakistani journalist Saleem Khaliq.
In fact, Shoaib Malik is well known for his good sportsmanship and plays the game in the right spirit. The veteran all-rounder believes that the game should be played with love, which makes everything better.
The word ‘war’ itself is a weird one for me and using it is not a good thing, especially in sports. We are going to treat this Indo-Pak game in @cricketworldcup as just another match,@realshoaibmalik

“When you deal with ‘love’, then everything becomes a bit easier – whether it’s cricket or any other sports. It unites people together. When people travel across nations and feel the warmth and love they receive, then a lot of illusions wither away.
“It’s just another match and just like the ones against other teams,” said Malik.
