The rivalry between Seth Rollins and AJ Styles heated up on WWE Raw with just 12 days remaining from Money in the Bank. This time around, Vince McMahon tried to bring them on the same page by forcing them to compete in a tag team match. His attempt failed as the contender shoes to leave the ring during the match leaving his partner alone and thereby causing a loss.

Vince McMahon was out on WWE Raw introducing a brand new wild card rule. It will allow the WWE Superstars to shift their respective brand on a random basis, every week. AJ Styles soon came out to claim that he is the one to carry forward the flagship brand. The Universal Champion did not agree with him and come out to have a confrontation. They were about to go into a physical fight forcing McMahon to announce a match.

The Boss arranged a tag team match where Seth Rollins and AJ Styles teamed up against Bobby Lashley and Baron Corbin. Rollins was in full control of the match when Styles hit an accidental Phenomenal Forearm and left the ring. Corbin took advantage and pinned Rollins hitting an End of Days. The Universal Champion was irate about this and promised to break Styles’ face at Money in the Bank.

The buildup for the Seth Rollins-AJ Styles rivalry has been pretty good for the past couple of weeks on WWE Raw. WWE booked them for the Universal Championship match at Money in the Bank where the contender had the utmost upper-hand as seen on the past couple of weeks. In case you have forgotten, AJ Styles left Seth Rollins lying flat on the floor to close last week’s WWE Raw.

So, WWE.com also mentioned that Seth Rollins needed a valiant comeback prior to Money in the Bank,

“As evidence, witness the Phenomenal Forearm that left The Beastslayer in splinters after taking a trip through a table. With two weeks to go until Rollins defends his prize in the first-time-ever matchup, Styles is firmly in the driver’s seat and maybe in the champion’s head. If The Architect wants to keep up, a response will be required.”

Otherwise, the championship buildup for Money in the Bank would have looked one-sided, completely. Seth Rollins had to fire back to the contender who was on a roll ever since coming back on WWE Raw during Superstar Shakeup. No doubt AJ Styles could be the next face to run the show but Rollins is still the Universal Champion. But at the end of the show, Styles seemed to still have the upper hand over the chap by leaving him high-and-dry during their match.
