It was a fine show from the reigning champions Chennai Super Kings as they defeated Delhi Capitals by six wickets in the second qualifier at Vizag. Thus, Chennai Super Kings have booked their final berth with Mumbai Indians. The defending champions were able to restrict Delhi Capitals to a below-par score of 147 after MS Dhoni won the toss and decided to bowl first.
Delhi Capitals were not able to get any momentum in their innings as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Rishabh Pant top-scored as he scored 38 runs whereas Deepak Chahar, Harbhajan Singh, Ravindra Jadeja and Dwayne Bravo scalped two wickets each.

Faf du Plessis scored his 12th IPL fifty.
Subsequently, Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson added a fine partnership of 81 runs. Faf du Plessis was the aggressor as the Proteas batsman batted at the top of his game. In fact, Faf du Plessis took his time in the initial stage and then changed his gear.
Faf du Plessis said while talking in the post-match presentation, “We spoke about it before the game – didn’t have the best run in the last 5-6 games. We have a lot of confidence as a team to win a lot of big games – so we draw confidence from that. From the previous games, the guys were playing some great shots up front. But it wasn’t the same kind of wicket. We also know the strength of ours is getting those partnerships – even if we go 3-4 overs without runs, we have a great lower and middle order to bring us back. Watto thanked me already for scoring quickly at the beginning. Hopefully, we can both get them off the meat in the final”.

Faf du Plessis completed his 12th IPL fifty off just 37 balls with the help of seven fours and one six. However, he was dismissed right after completing his personal milestone.
Chennai Super Kings came up with the collective performance as they ticked the right boxes. Shane Watson also scored a fine fifty to help his team get to the IPL final on the eighth occasion.
Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings will take on Mumbai Indians in the final of the IPL 2019 at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium on 12th May.
