The 1992 Cricket World Cup winners Pakistan has the disaster start in the 2019 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup. In their first game of this tournament, Pakistan was bundled out for their second lowest completed total in Cricket World Cup history.
On Friday (31st May), Pakistan met Windies in their opening match of the tournament at Trent Bridge (Nottingham). Pakistan was sent to bat first after Windies captain Jason Holder won that toss.
In the first innings of the match, Pakistan never looked strong against the Windies pacers. All the Pakistan batsmen failed to play controlled innings while the Windies pacers won in their short-ball tricks. Finally, Pakistan was all out for just 105 runs in only 21.4 overs.
Only the opener Fakhar Zaman and the no.3 batsman Babar Azam reached the 20-run mark as both scored 22 runs. Mohammad Hafeez (16 runs) and Wahab Riaz (18 runs) were the only other batsmen in that innings to reach the double-digit scores.

It was the second lowest completed total for Pakistan in their Cricket World Cup history. Their lowest completed World Cup total is 74 (40.2 overs) against England at Adelaide on 1st March 1992.
Previously, their lowest completed total against the Caribbean side in the CWC history was 160 (39 overs) at Christchurch on 21st February 2015.
Also, Pakistan’s latest total of 105 runs was the fifth lowest completed total for any team against Windies in the Cricket World Cup history.

Meanwhile, this low total was also Pakistan’s fourth-lowest completed ODI total against Windies.
