On Saturday (3rd August), England pacer Stuart Broad became the seventh bowler to claim 450 Test wickets. However, the 33-year-old right-arm pacer is the slowest bowler to achieve this feat.
England and Australia are currently busy in the Ashes 2019 that has begun on this Thursday (1st August). In the ongoing Edgbaston (Birmingham) Test, Stuart Broad reached his 450 Test wickets figure in the very early of Australia’s second innings.

The English pacer Stuart Broad (444 wickets) was six wickets away when he started his ongoing 128th Test. In the first innings of this Test, Broad bowled impressively as he claimed his 17th five-wicket haul in Test career. He had the bowling figures of 22.4-4-86-5. At the end of that innings, Broad was just one wicket away to complete 450 Test wickets.

Broad finally achieved the incredible 450 Test wickets figure on Saturday during Australia’s second innings. In the third over of that innings, Broad dismissed the Aussie opener David Warner and completed his 450 Test wickets. Warner was caught behind by the English wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow after scoring just eight runs.

Achieving this feat in 128 Tests, Stuart Broad became the slowest bowler to complete 450 Test wickets. Former West Indies pacer Courtney Walsh was the previous slowest bowler in this list who achieved this feat in 118 Tests.
