After completing the tenure as a head coach of Pakistan, Mickey Arthur has joined as the coach of the Center Stags for the upcoming T20 Super Smash 2019-20. His contract was not renewed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) because he failed to give the world Cup to Pakistan.
First time under his guidance, Pakistan became the winner of the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy by defeating India in the final. Pakistan became the No.1 in Test and T20I side. Seeing Pakistan in progress, Arthur’s tenure was renewed but things have not gone really well afterwards.

Moreover, Pakistan has a deteriorating performance in the World Cup 2019. As they managed to win the last four matches they played but it was too late and they were out of the tournament.

This is a great opportunity for me – Mickey Arthur
Mickey Arthur feels great to coach for New Zealand cricket. He has coached different countries in the cricket world. He started with South Africa and then went to Australia (2011-13) and also coached in many T20 Leagues.
“I have always admired New Zealand cricket and to work in the system is going to be very exciting,” said Mickey Arthur.
“This is a great opportunity for me and I can’t wait to help the Central Stags defend the title, but also to contribute to an environment of excellence and enhance the skills of the cricketers,’ he added.
The Central Stags are the defending titleholders of Super Smash. The team in total have won three titles since the tournament has started.
