Since Rohit Sharma has been promoted as an opener in Test cricket, he is shining in the Test cricket and becoming unstoppable. Now he has scored his maiden double-century in Test cricket and fourth double-century in the international career.

After winning the toss, India got a poor start in the ongoing Ranchi Test. India lost the first three wickets in just 39 runs as Mayank Agarwal (10), Cheteshwar Pujara (0) and Virat Kohli (12) fell cheaply.

But Rohit Sharma has performed unstoppably along with Ajinkya Rahane and it not only has rescued the hosts but has also set up the moment to put the large first-innings total.

On the day one of this Test match, Rohit completed his sixth Test century in 130 balls. While the day one ended early due to the bad light, India were batting on 224/3 and Rohit was batting on 117 runs along with Rahane (83*).

After building up a strong fourth-wicket partnership of 267 runs, Rahane lost his wicket on 115 runs.
