Indian national cricket team is getting ready for the upcoming home T20I series against Bangladesh. But ahead of the opening T20I of this series, India has got a major injury scare. Rohit Sharma, who has been selected as the captain of the T20I squad in the absence of Virat Kohli for the forthcoming home series, has left the net session after receiving a blow on his thigh.

The India vs Bangladesh three-match T20I series is ready to begin on this Sunday (3rd November) at Arun Jaitley Stadium (Delhi). In the absence of the Indian captain Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma has the duty to lead the T20I side in this series. But the recent incident has raised the tension inside the Indian dressing room.

On Friday (1st November), during the throwdowns in the net session, one ball hit on his left thigh. That blow troubled him hugely as Rohit immediately left the net session to get the treatment.

To handle the Bangladesh left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman, the Indian camp has brought a Sri Lankan left-arm throwdown expert Nuwan. Ahead of the facing the bowlers in the net practice, the batsmen normally face the throwdown to get some rhythm.

According to the PTI report, Rohit wasn’t happy with the pace of that delivery which has forced him to leave the net.

Rohit is receiving the treatment and the update will come with the time progress.

A team source told PTI, “Rohit is getting treatment and we will update you when we get the details.”

Rohit Sharma is in golden touch

The 32-year-old Rohit Sharma is currently running in a dream form. He was the highest run-scorer in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. In that tournament, he scored 648 runs in nine innings with an average of 81.00, including five centuries.

In the recently concluded three-match home Test series against South Africa, the new Test opener Rohit Sharma performed brilliantly. Rohit finished that series as the leading run-scorer as he scored 529 runs in four innings (average 132.25). He hit three centuries in that innings, including his maiden Test double-century. At the end of that series, while India completed the whitewash (3-0), Rohit won the Player of the Series award.
