On Friday (1st November), during the second game of Deodhar Trophy 2019/20, India C claimed a giant victory against India A at Ranchi. With this defeat, India A has been eliminated from this tournament while India B and India C both have qualified for the final of this tournament.
India C managed to score 366/3 after the domination of the batsmen
It was the must-win game for India A. India C captain Shubman Gill decided to bat first after winning the toss. The openers, Mayank Agarwal and Shubman Gill, provided a solid start that led them towards the big total.
The opening partnership was 226 runs while both the openers hit centuries. Agarwal scored 120 runs off 111 balls (15 fours and only six) while Gill played the knock of 143 runs off 142 balls (10 fours and six sixes).


In the death overs, Suryakumar Yadav bashed the India A bowlers. In the last three overs, India C added 61 runs out of which Yadav scored 55 runs off 14 balls. Yadav completed his half-century in just 24 balls and scored 72 not out off just 29 balls. As a result, India C managed the mammoth first innings total of 366/3 (50 overs).
Jalaj Saxena picked up seven wickets, India A only scored 134 runs
In reply, India A were bundled out for just 134 runs (29.5 overs) as India C won that game by 232 runs. Only three batsmen reached the 20-run mark in that innings. Those batsmen were the opener Devdutt Padikkal (31), Bhargav Merai (30) and the wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan (25).
The off-spinner Jalaj Saxena dominated with the ball as he achieved the best bowling figures in Deodhar Trophy history. At the end of that innings, Saxena had the bowling figures of 9.5-0-41-7. Also, Ishan Porel (2/12) took two wickets and Dhawal Kulkarni (1/29) scalped one wicket in that innings.

India A have lost both the matches of this tournament. On Thursday (31st October), India B beat them by 108 runs.
On Saturday (2nd October), India B and India C will meet at the same venue. They will again meet in the final of this tournament on Monday (4th November).
