On day three of the Indore Test, the hosts India secured an easy victory by an innings against the visitors Bangladesh. With this victory, India have taken the 1-0 lead in the two-match Test series with one to go.

Bangladesh started the day three after India declared their first innings on their overnight score of 493/6. The visitors started the day by trailing 343 runs.

Once again the Indian bowlers dominated over the entire Bangladesh batting line-up. Apart from some late fight, Bangladesh lost their wickets at regular intervals. All the top three batsmen even failed to reach the double-digit scores. Only three batsmen reached the 20-run mark in that innings. These batsmen are Mushfiqur Rahim, wicketkeeper-batsman Liton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

Rahim scored 64 runs off 150 balls (7 fours). Rahim put 63 runs partnership for the sixth wicket with Liton Das and 59 runs partnership for the seventh wicket with Miraz. While Liton scored 35 runs, Miraz added 38 runs. In their second innings, Bangladesh were all–out on 213 runs. The visitors lost this match by an innings and 130 runs.

Among the Indian bowlers, pacer Mohammed Shami (4/31) bagged four wickets and the off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin (3/42) scalped three wickets. Also, Ishant Sharma (1/31) took one wicket and Umesh Yadav (2/51) grabbed the other two wickets in that innings.

India were always in control during this match

Earlier, Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bat first in this opening Test of this series. On day one of this Test match, India bundled out the visitors for just 150 runs.

In reply, most of the Indian batsmen dominated in their first innings as they took the scoreboard close to the 500 runs mark. Opener Mayank Agarwal once again showed his outstanding batting skills as he hit his second Test double-century and scored 243 runs in 330 balls (28 fours and 8 sixes).
