India’s Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara went unsold in the ongoing IPL 2020 auction at Kolkata. No franchise was interested in bidding for Cheteshwar Pujara. The right-hander from Saurashtra had set his base price at INR 50 lakhs but could not find any bidders in the auction. Pujara is not known for his T20 exploits and he has a strike rate of 99.74 in the tournament.
In fact, Pujara has played 30 IPL matches in his career. The right-hander has been a pillar of strength in India’s Test side but he has issues in getting the runs quickly. Furthermore, India’s Test specialist Hanuma Vihari also went unsold in the auction. Pujara has scored 390 runs in the IPL history at an average of 20.53 and he has also scored one fifty.

Hanuma Vihari has also gone unsold.
Meanwhile, Australian combative opening batsman Chris Lynn was sold to defending champions, Mumbai Indians for his base price of 2 crores. Lynn has been in sublime form in the recent past and he was released by Kolkata Knight Riders. Australia’s limited over captain Aaron Finch was brought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for INR 4.40 crores.
On the other hand, England white-ball skipper Eoin Morgan is grabbed by Kolkata Knight Riders for INR 5.25 crores. Meanwhile, Robin Uthappa who was earlier released by Kolkata Knight Riders was taken by Rajasthan Royals for INR 3 crores.

Australia’s talisman all-rounder Glenn Maxwell who recently made a comeback from the break has thus far achieved the most expensive bid at 10.75 INR by Kings XI Punjab. Maxwell had earlier also played for Kings XI Punjab and it would be a homecoming for him. Punjab was involved in a bidding war with Delhi Capitals.
All the teams have come up with their respective strategies for the auction. The teams will look to fill in the missing pieces in their squad and get the in-form players in their team.
