While India started this new year with the three-match home T20I series against Sri Lanka, Rohit Sharma took a short break from the national team. In the last year, Rohit was very busy. As he was enjoying remarkable batting form as an opener in every format, he didn’t take much rest, especially in late 2019. Finally, Rohit recently took a short break during the three-match home T20I series against Sri Lanka that India won by 2-0.

According to the Sportstar report, when Rohit Sharma was facing the throwdown from batting coach Vikram Rathour, he received a blow on his thumb. However, soon he returned to the net to continue his practice.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) hasn’t given any update on this injury yet. However, it can be surely understood that team management will not take this issue lightly as Rohit Sharma is a crucial member of this team, and some of their top cricketers are already missing due to injuries.

Rohit Sharma is ready to start the new year freshly. In the last year, the right-handed batsman was the leading ODI run-scorer (1,490 runs) and second-most run-scorer in international cricket (2,442 runs). He is currently the no.2-ranked ODI batsman.
