On Sunday (19 January), India A consecutively won the second one-dayer comprehensively against New Zealand XI in Lincoln. The highlight of the second one-day warm-up match was the effortless batting from Prithvi Shaw, who established the game for India.
The star opener Shaw, who missed the first one-dayer game because of injury, returned in the second game against New Zealand. As expected, he aggressively started his innings. Though the other side constantly lost the wickets, however, the 19-year-old kept the scoreboard ticking. In his power-packed performance, he scored brilliant 150 runs off just 100 balls. He struck twenty-two fours and two sixes during his blistering knock.

While the captain Shubhman Gill, who has scored 93 in the first One dayer, was out for 24 in the second game. Further, the innings were carried on by Mayank Agarwal (32), Suryakumar Yadav (26) and the second-highest scorer in the particular match; Vijay Shankar, who scored 58 off 41. Whereas, the all-rounder Krunal Pandya contributed 32 runs with the bat.

Subsequently, India A, winning the toss, set the mammoth target of 372 runs for New Zealand XI.

In the New Zealand XI innings, Pandya gave a breakthrough in the game after picking the wicket of the opener Jack Boyle, who scored 130 runs. Pandya also took the crucial wicket of Finn Allen (87). Also, the fast bowler Ishan Porel picked wickets of Katene Clarke and Josh Clarkson. Kiwi wicketkeeper-batsman Cleaver (44) and bowler Shipley set a threatening partnership but they could not help their team to seal the deal.
Meanwhile, the spinner Shankar and Sandeep Warrier went wicketless in this match while Mohammed Siraj picked a solitary wicket. Albeit New Zealand XI could not reach the target and India A won the match by 12 runs.
Now, both teams will head to play the three unofficial ODI games from 22 January.
