Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal have last played together during the 2019 World Cup. Since then, they haven’t played a match together as one of them is either benched or dropped from the squad. When they both had entered the team, they were looking inseparable partner but now they are rarely seen together in the playing XI. On Thursday, Kuldeep spoke about the same.
Fondly, known as ‘KulCha’ Jodi, Kuldeep and Chahal have enough ammunition to prove that their partnership can destroy the opposition.
Talking about their credentials, they have played 34 ODIs together and bagged 65 wickets at an average of 22.73. Even in T20Is, they boast about the good record and have scalped 22 wickets in 10 matches.
The decision completely rests with team management: Kuldeep Yadav
On Thursday, while talking to Times of India, Kuldeep was asked about the absence of the wrist-spin duo from India’s playing XI. He simply said its team strategy and such decisions completely depends on team management.
Well, he is sure that whenever the duo will play together they will give their best.
“We have a strong T20I side and we are confident of doing well in the World Cup. As far as playing wrist-spinners are concerned, the decision completely rests with the team management because you need to consider the factors like conditions and team combination.”

“If I and (Yuzvendra) Chahal get a chance to play together then definitely we’ll give our hundred percent. Bowling and batting in partnerships always help the team and I will be delighted if we (Kuldeep-Chahal) play together,” Kuldeep stated.
Kuldeep Yadav’s snubbed from Tests:
In the recent past, Kuldeep was called as the best bowler for overseas Test series by India’s head coach Ravi Shastri. He was believed as the key player for the team but it seems that everything has changed.
Kuldeep has been sidelined by the team management in all the away series after the World Cup 2019.

Regarding his snub, Kuldeep was asked what has changed in the last few months which has dropped him from the Test squad.
“I don’t think anything has changed. It’s just the team combination that matters when we are playing overseas. If you look at the New Zealand tracks, there’s hardly any offer for the spinners there. The team management and support staff are very helpful and we are always kept in the loop when such decisions are taken,” he added.
Meanwhile, India will play a three-match ODI series against South Africa. So far, India’s squad has not been announced so it will be interesting to see whether both Kuldeep Yadav and Chahal will be included or not in the squad.
