Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has recently talked about MS Dhoni’s future if the IPL 2020 is entirely cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Entire Indian cricket fans are eagerly waiting to see MS Dhoni on the field. The former Indian World Cup-winning captain hasn’t played a cricket match yet since India’s heart-breaking semi-final defeat in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

There was long time speculation about Dhoni’s retirement. Neither the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) nor Dhoni himself has clarified about his future in cricket. At one stage, Dhoni requested to not ask him about his cricket future till January 2020.

Though the time has passed already, there is no clarification on Dhoni’s future. However, it was confirmed that Dhoni would return to the game during IPL 2020.

On the other hand, the Indian Head Coach Ravi Shastri has recently hinted that Dhoni may not return to the ODI cricket, but his IPL 2020 performances can help him to return to the T20I cricket, at least for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020.

However, the situation has changed now due to the coronavirus outbreak. Like worldwide, India has also affected in this virus. So, like the other daily routines in worldwide, the entire world cricket has also been shut down.

Initially, the IPL 2020 was scheduled from 29th March to 24th May 2020. But due to the coronavirus outbreak, which prevents the availability of the on-ground spectators and foreigners, the BCCI has decided to postpone this tournament till mid-April.

Now, the big question is what will happen to MS Dhoni if the IPL 2020 doesn’t happen.

Aakash Chopra believes that Dhoni is very much clear about his future in cricket. So, whether IPL 2020 happens or not, it will not affect his plan.

If he wants to return to the Indian team for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020, and the selectors also want him, Dhoni will be back in the side due to his huge experiences.
