Recently, a cricket fan has asked Moody for his opinion on the best among the top four present star batsmen – Virat Kohli, Steven Smith, Joe Root and Kane Williamson. All of them are known for their consistent batting performances as their respective teams are mostly dependent on their batting performances.

Tom Moody chose Virat Kohli

At first, Moody called all of them as the brilliant players. However, the former Australian believes that Virat Kohli owns the limited-overs cricket.

Indian captain Virat Kohli is one of the most successful batsmen in international cricket history. Apart from leading the ICC ODI batting rankings, Kohli has just lost the top position in the ICC Test batting rankings (no.2 position), and he is also standing in the 10th spot in the ICC T20I batting rankings.

On the other hand, Australian cricketer Steven Smith is showing amazing batting skills. At present, he is standing on top of the ICC Test batting rankings. Observing the latest players’ rankings, we have to remember too that Smith had been suspended for one-year till late March 2019.

While Joe Root is playing regularly in Test and ODI cricket, he is leading England’s Test team. At present, the right-handed batsman is the eighth-ranked Test and ODI batsman.

In the meantime, New Zealand captain Kane Williamson is one of the most important batsmen for his national team. His team is hugely depended on his batting. At present, he is the no.4-ranked Test batsman and no.7-ranked ODI batsman.
