However, at an early age, when Kohli was rejected for the first time in the state selections, he was really upset. The youngster couldn’t believe that rejection due to scoring well and feeling perfect for the state selections. Kohli not only cried till 3 AM on that day, but he also continuously asked his coach the reason for his rejection. However, now the Indian captain believes that the motivation always comes back if the passion and commitment remain still.

In a recent online session, Kohli recalled that incident by claiming, “The first time I was rejected in the state selections, I remember it was late at night and I just cried. I howled till about three in the morning and I could not believe it. Because I scored well, everything was going perfectly for me. I performed till I reached that stage and I was rejected. And I kept asking my coach for two hours, why didn’t it happen? And I couldn’t make sense of it. But when there is passion and commitment, that motivation comes back to you.”
