The 27-year-old Indian pacer Deepak Chahar, who is holding the record of best T20I bowling figures, has recently talked about the differences between the captain MS Dhoni and captain Rohit Sharma.
Deepak Chahar made his international debut in the second half of 2018. Since then he has played three ODIs and 10 T20Is where the right-arm pacer has taken two and 17 wickets respectively. He made ODI debut under MS Dhoni’s captaincy while he played the nine other international matches under the captaincy of Virat Kohli and three T20Is under the leadership of Rohit Sharma.

Chahar made IPL debut for MS Dhoni-led Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) in 2016 edition. The RPS franchise retained him for the next edition, where Steven Smith led the team. From 2018, Chahar is serving for Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
Chahar feels Kohli is an aggressive captain but Rohit and Dhoni have the similarities in their leadership as both are very cool on the field.

Chahar told Sports Tak, “Everybody has their own styles. When you talk about aggression, Virat Kohli is an aggressive captain. When you talk about Rohit bhai and Mahi bhai, both of them are similar when it comes to being cool on the field.
“They don’t get angry easily. They both try to get the best out of the players.”
Chahar has claimed that captain Rohit sometimes allows him to set his own field, but the experienced Dhoni mostly sets his field according to the batsman.
Chahar continued, “MS Dhoni is a wicketkeeper. He can come and give your advice even in the middle of an over. Rohit fields at mid-off, most times. He also trusts the bowlers. He sometimes allows me to go ahead with my own field.
“On the other hand, Mahi bhai knows where the batsman is strong and where he is not. He is vastly experienced. So he sets the field based on that.”
There are some differences between MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma, considering their experience: Deepak Chahar
Chahar enjoys playing under both the captains Rohit and Dhoni. Talking about their differences, Chahar pointed out their experiences. The pacer also claims that Dhoni makes minimal changes while Rohit likes to change continuously to make unsettled the batsmen.

Chahar added, “There are some differences between them, considering their experience.
“But I have enjoyed playing under both of them. Rohit has shown a lot of faith in me. My career can be attributed to Mahi bhai. He has shown a lot of trust in me.
“In T20s, I noticed one thing. Mahi bhai makes very little changes. When it comes to team selection, he makes few changes. If he has worked out a formula, he wants to carry it forward to the next matches.
“Rohit bhai likes to make changes. If you look at it, he sometimes uses 6 bowlers for 6 overs in powerplays. He trusts in unsettling the batsmen. This is one difference I find between them.
“But if you look at the larger picture, there are similarities between the both of them.”
Deepak Chahar hasn’t played a recognised cricket match since last December due to the back injury. However, Chahar is in the process of recovery, and he was eyeing to return to the IPL 2020. But the coronavirus pandemic has forced to delay his return to the game.
