Apollo Crews has become the new WWE United States Champion as seen on last night’s episode of WWE Raw. The opening match of the night on the USA Network saw Crews capturing the title by defeating Andrade. These two competed in a singes bout in a rematch from a month ago on WWE Raw where Crews suffered a knee injury and eventually had to leave the contest.

But this time around, he evened the odds by inadvertently taking out Andrade’s manager, Zelina Vega. He then downed Andrade with an Enziguiri. A Standing Moonsault followed by a Shooting Star Press to hand over the victory to Crews which in turn handed his first singles title win of WWE career.

 

 

In backstage footage from Apollo’s first title photo shoot, and a post-show video of Crews talking to Kayla Braxton about the big win was also released after WWE Raw.

 

Crews dedicated this win to his wife and kids, and talked about how this win could be earning the respect of his peers and fans. We should note that Andrade won the title back on December 26 at the WWE live event from Madison Square Garden in New York City, by defeating Rey Mysterio.

WWE Raw hosted at the closed-set Performance Center in Orlando, Florida also confirmed a title match for Backlash over the Women’s Championship. Nia Jax vs. will be challenging Asuka in a match that is now official for the second PPV event following Wrestlemania 36.

 

 

Last night’s WWE Raw, witnessed Jax clinching a victory in a Triple Threat over WWE NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair and Natalya to become the new number-one contender. She pinned Natalya after hitting her with a Samoan Drop. WWE Backlash will mark Asuka’s first title defense since Becky Lynch vacated the belt to her and announced her pregnancy, earlier this month.

 

 

2020 Backlash pay-per-view will reportedly take place on June 14, from the closed-set WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. Below is the current match card for Backlash,
