AJ Styles is one of the top superstars of the WWE roster who had quite a bumpy road in the year 2020. Unlike the past couple of years, he was not on the top of the food chain being a champion. But it was not fully bad either as he managed to get a WrestleMania match against The Undertaker. Later, he became the Intercontinental Champion on SmackDown.
AJ Styles recently returned to Twitch while discussing pro wrestling and video games. Before getting started on the stream, he made sure to address an ongoing rumor that informed how he’s unhappy in WWE. The Phenomenal One said that he did have some prior issues with Paul Heyman but he’s ready to move on.
AJ Styles Addresses Rumors On Being Unhappy With His WWE Career

“I’m unhappy being Intercontinental Champion, I’m unhappy what? What do I have to be unhappy about?” AJ Styles asked. “We all understood what happened [with Paul Heyman]. The problem with everything that happened is that the lie happened, the blatant lie. I don’t really want to harp on anyone anymore. What’s done is done.”
Revealed: AJ Styles’ Opponent At WWE Summerslam 2020 PPV
The Phenomenal One has spent over two decades in the world of pro-wrestling while finding his way to the WWE. It finally happened in the year 2016. Before that, he once considered other jobs, just-in-case pro wrestling didn’t work out for him. He always wanted to go a level where he could support his family. He was married and obviously wanted to be a responsible man.
“I don’t know where it would have lead me to. It would be a lot different, I can promise you that,” AJ Styles stated. “I mean, I thought maybe a cop, I thought going into the military. What would I have done if I had not had my eye on wrestling – that’s a good question. At some point, you’re going to have to figure out what you’re going to do with your life and how you’re going to support your family.”
AJ Styles Reveals Favorite Match; Wants To Face WWE Hall Of Famer

As reported last week, AJ Styles expressed his desire to feature in a one-on-one match against WWE Hall Of Famer, Edge. The former WWE Champion looked back to the Royal Rumble match, earlier this year, where he stepped into the ring with “The Rated R Superstar” for the first time. During the conversation, he discloses how he felt about Edge’s miraculous return.
“It’s really cool to see the reaction that he got because he never thought he’d be back, no one ever thought he’d be back,” AJ Styles said. “And being in the ring, knowing you, myself, was about to do something really cool with him. It was exciting for me just to see the response, and everything about it, and knowing I was going to get the opportunity to work with this guy. So, I was super happy for him.” (Transcription by wrestlingINC.com)
