On Tuesday (29th September) night, SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) claimed their first win in the IPL 2020 after managing a 15-run victory against Delhi Capitals (DC) at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium (Abu Dhabi).

Delhi Capitals chose to field first after winning the toss. At the end of the first innings, SRH scored 162/4 (20 overs). Later, SRH restricted Delhi Capitals to 147/7 (20 overs).

  • Australian cricketer David Warner became the third overseas cricketer to play as a captain in 50 or more IPL matches. Only the former Australian cricketers Adam Gilchrist (74 IPL matches as a captain) and Shane Warne (55 IPL matches as a captain) are ahead of Warner in this list.

ii) Australian David Warner has hit 184 IPL sixes.

  • David Warner becomes the third most six-hitter as an overseas batsman in IPL history. Only Caribbean star Chris Gayle (326 sixes) and South African cricketer AB de Villiers (219 sixes) are ahead from Warner in this list.

i) SRH leg-spinner Rashid Khan had the bowling figures of 4-0-14-3.

  • It is the best bowling figures for an SRH bowler against Delhi Capitals. Their previous record was 3/30 by Khaleel Ahmed at Hyderabad (Deccan) on 14th April 2019.
  • Till the date, it is the best bowling figures in IPL 2020. The previous record was 3/15 by Mohammed Shami (Kings XI Punjab) against Delhi Capitals (DC) at Dubai on 20th September 2020.
