Roman Reigns won the Universal Championship at the Payback pay-per-view event that went down on the last week of August 2020. This occurred after a heel-turn and thus there have been speculations about a possible feud between Reigns and The Rock. The reigning champion has started calling himself the “Tribal Chief” of the entire WWE Universe who is also the main feeder of the great Samoan family.
These seem to be a background plot where The Rock, the most significant member of the Samoan Dynasty could show up to oppose the idea. The two men have already stated using social media that how much they’d love to face each other. It is obviously a dream match for the fans, too that they want to see. But could it really be possible?

The Rock Vs Roman Reigns: Reason WWE May Cancel The Mega Match
In a recent interview with ESPN’s Ariel Helwani, Roman Reigns’ Special Counsel, Paul Heyman mentioned that it was The Rock who called out his master, and it didn’t happen the other way around.
Now, The Wrestling Observer noted that even if WWE has plans to do The Rock vs. Roman Reigns in the future, the program has to face an obstacle in the form of the insurance deal The Great One has signed in respect to the movies he’s going to be a part of. Even if he wants to be a part of the match, these deals won’t let it happen.
Goldberg Reveals He Still Has Three Years Of Contract Left With WWE
Movie companies don’t want him to get injured because it would lead to production issues in the middle portion of the shooting process. So it would be very hard to convince the concerned authority so that they can allow him to make a possible return to the ring. This is the sole reason why The Rock hasn’t been seen in a full-fledged wrestling match for the past 7 years.
It was also pointed out by the source that WWE, over the years has planned bouts like The Rock vs. Triple H, The Rock, and Ronda Rousey vs. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon or The Rock vs. Brock Lesnar in the past few years whenever it came down to WrestleMania. However, none of them materialized because of the Brahma Bull having immense Hollywood commitments.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson recently posted a video on his YouTube channel where and his close friend and business partner Hiram Garcia reflected on this potential dream bout between two Samoan family members. The seven-time world champion said that he’d be honored to put over the current poster boy of the WWE if the match ever happens,
“Well, I’ll tell you this right now, I know how that works,” The Rock noted. “I’m not going down that road because I know how that conversation goes. ‘Listen, here’s what we’re thinking, Roman beats you now at this WrestleMania, but listen, before you guys say anything, then on the next one, that’s when…’
But you know what, the truth is, I would be honored not only to share the ring with Roman and go back to the WWE but of course man, I would be honored to have him raise his hand on that one.”
