Following the completion of the TLC pay-per-view 2020 edition, WWE will start the build-up for Royal Rumble 2021 pay-per-view. This would be the first PPV event of next year that is likely to be held in a bigger way where the expectation is a few fans will be allowed to be in attendance, physically.
WWE programming is also said to be going through some shakeups following the lower TV ratings of Monday Night Raw on the USA Network. So perhaps some edgy contents are also coming in the scene. In the meantime, Royal Rumble 2021 ideas are also being nurtured among the creative team of the company. It seems some big title matches are also being discussed.

Royal Rumble 2021: WWE To Host Two Huge Title Matches?

As always, Men’s and Women’s Royal Rumble 2021 matches are confirmed to take place at the January PPV, while some other big matches are also rumored for the event. As reported earlier, the Universal Championship will be defended by Roman Reigns where his opponent will be Daniel Bryan. It was already reported through various sources as the feud was pushed back from TLC.
The second big match being speculated for Royal Rumble 2021 was hinted at, in one of the recent editions of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. It would see The Hurt Business member Bobby Lashley defending his United States Championship against Riddle. There was a rumor at one point to see this match at TLC but WWE decided to go with six matches on the card, instead.

Riddle and Lashley have been feuding on RAW over the past couple of weeks, and it seems a no-brainer that their feud will produce a fresh match at Royal Rumble 2021. Lashley is heavily protected on WWE TV. So, it’ll be interesting to see whether Riddle can make an impact while going up against The Dominator.
On an interesting note, Jeff Hardy could also possibly be added to the match, making it a Triple Threat as Riddle is emphasizing on starting an angle with Hardy on Raw. It’s just a rumor, for now as nothing around Royal Rumble 2021 is confirmed, yet. But the show will go down from WWE’s current residency at the Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida.
