He made an appearance on RAW the next night for a Firefly Funhouse segment, indicating that he will have a fresh start over his next appearance but that never happened.

WWE Senior Executive of Talent Relations, John Laurinaitis was the one who informed Bray Wyatt of his WWE release as he was told that the release happened due to COVID-19 related budget cuts. Prior to this, Wyatt was preparing for an in-ring return and was in great shape. He was also even being advertised for some WWE shows in August although no confirmed update was available on what the company has planned for his comeback.

The report also noted that this decision of cutting down Bray Wyatt has likely come from WWE President Nick Khan and CFO Kristina Salen due to their obsession with keeping WWE out of danger when it comes to financial perspective. The WWE Q2 financials have just come out, last week, and apparently, there was a push to go through more cost-cuttings, causing this shocking release of the former Universal Champion.

Vince McMahon has reportedly given WWE President Nick Khan a lot of power to do things and he is the man behind a lot of recent releases. Also, Vince and Bray Wyatt, was said to be having a “very hot and cold” relationship that could act as another reason for the release. Wyatt should currently be under a 90-day non-compete clause which will end a week before AEW’s Full Gear pay-per-view, on November 6th, already hinting at a debut on the WWE’s rival brand.
