WWE Raw is coming up with a pivotal episode before Summerslam where the expectation is high that the WWE Title match for the PPV will be confirmed. The legendary Goldberg is slated to make an appearance on the show to make his title match encounter finalized with the current champion.
The reigning WWE Raw Women’s Champion will also be in action in a rematch against Charlotte Flair in a stipulated matchup. Omos will be competing in a rare singles match on the show against Riddle in a segment that could witness a return. Plus, we are likely to learn an update on the future of the Women’s tag team titles following Natalya’s injury as Raw airs from the All-State Arena in Chicago, Illinois.
Goldberg returned on WWE Raw during the post Money in the Bank episode as he confronted Bobby Lashley, indicating a title match. Taking to Twitter, the champion rejected the challenge while he also revealed the same idea during last week’s episode. Now the former WCW franchise is likely to have one more face-off with him to confirm the mega Summerslam bout.
As per WWE’s confirmations, Goldberg will be on RAW to respond to WWE Champion Bobby Lashley dismissing his SummerSlam challenge last week. It’s likely that the match will be confirmed on Monday. Goldberg was advertised locally, and via the WWE website, while this was recently made, official. Following this week’s appearance, Goldberg will appear on the August 16 episode from the AT&T Center in San Antonio, the go-home RAW for SummerSlam.
Previously, it was announced that WWE Raw Women’s Champion Nikki Cross A.S.H. will compete in a rematch against Charlotte Flair. This match happens as a result of what transpired last week between the two. Flair defeated Cross in a non-title match with a roll-up and bragged about it. Cross proceeded to issue another challenge which was accepted by Flair but she then delivered an assault to Cross.
WWE then announced that the Nikki vs. Charlotte rematch will be held under the No Holds Barred stipulation where nothing could disqualify the contest. Just like this past Monday’s WWE Raw, this match announced for Monday is being billed as another Women’s Title Contenders Match while Flair vs. Rhea Ripley vs. Nikki in a Triple Threat for the title has already been announced for WWE SummerSlam.
WWE Raw Preview (02/08/21): Major return imminent?
WWE RAW Tag Team Champion Omos vs. Riddle has also been announced for the show. This will be Omos’ second singles match on the main roster since he defeated Erik back on the July 12 RAW episode. This coming match against Riddle happens as Omos destroyed Riddle’s scooter, last week followed by an attack from Omos’ tag team partner, AJ Styles.
There have been rumors on Riddle and Randy Orton possibly challenging Omos and AJ, perhaps at the WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view on August 21. Orton has been away from RAW for a month now, but he is considered to be in action in time for RAW in Chicago. He is currently being advertised for WWE Raw for the upcoming weeks and house shows, hinting at a return to save Riddle from Styles and Omos.
Last week, Natalya was injured during a tag team match while tangling with Doudrop and that is a big problem. The company won’t have one veteran competitor on the roster. Plus, she is also one-half of the Women’s tag team champions. Going by the current updates, Nattie had to undergo surgery to fix the problems on her legs. Hence, there’s a chance that the titles could be vacated.
According to Post Wrestling, Natalya’s injury will be addressed on WWE RAW, this week as WWE might also announce the tag team title plans around Summerslam,
“WWE is going to provide an update on the status of Natalya and the Women’s Tag Team Championships that she and Tamina are in possession of. The #1 contenders to the titles are Shotzi Blackheart and Nox.”
