Gable Steveson pulled off a major shocker when he ended up winning an Olympics Gold Medal in 125kg freestyle wrestling. Since he is now being crowned with the highest honor a wrestler can achieve, things are looking bright for him. At the age of just 21, he can explore different opportunities that could be waiting for him. Several companies are seemingly interested in him.
That being said, Gable Steveson will be surrounded by offers if not he already is. WWE has already started to openly show their affection towards him on social media hinting at a potential signing. The fact that the NCAA champion is a huge fan of WWE may also act in a positive way for him. Since he has great knowledge in wrestling, it would also be easy for him to move to mixed martial arts and professional boxing, as well.

This means UFC could also be in the mix. At the same time, there’s also the possibility that the champion could simply choose to appear in the Paris 2024 Olympics and start preparing for his next gold. If that is the case then it would put both WWE and UFC on the backside. For the time being, it appears that WWE could be in the lead for the new signing.
WWE has the upper-hand for Gable Steveson
Dave Meltzer spoke to Around The Rings where he discussed that how WWE is holding an edge to the situation. While the UFC promotion could be interested in a tug of war with the WWE while their competitor AEW is not interested in Gable Steveson. They probably know how the athlete is already in touch with WWE-associated Paul Heyman or Brock Lesnar and thus could be one step forward to the WWE.
“Paul Heyman (former wrestling promoter and currently an on-screen manager) has known about him long before anyone else has, back to high school and Steveson said he wants Heyman to manage him. Plus his brother Bobby is already with WWE, and he’s already been on WWE television and in the crowd at shows.”
“I haven’t heard him mentioned in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) circles but he would be a great get for them particularly if he does well.”

Vince McMahon can certainly offer a huge contract to the Gold Medalist, forcing him to sign up with them so that he can churn out another Kurt Angle from him. Plus, Gable Steveson already idolizes the likes of Angle, Brock Lesnar, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, and ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin. He has already attended WWE events and time will say whether he would visit their shows, again but as a roster member.
