WWE Smackdown returns to its home, this week with a very special edition where Brock Lesnar will make his appearance, going after the Universal championship. A solid Summerslam rematch will be in-store on the show when Edge faces Seth Rollins in their second encounter. Also, an Extreme Rules contract signing will be there on the show that takes place at the Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Brock Lesnar is the headliner of this Super SmackDown episode as he will be targeting the reigning Universal Champion, Roman Reigns. Last week, a backstage segment took place where Kayla Braxton was interviewing Paul Heyman when his phone started ringing. It was Lesnar’s theme song playing on the phone as the ringtone, and it was Lesnar who was calling. It appeared that The Beast wanted Heyman to deliver to WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
Brock Lesnar Vs. Roman Reigns: Twist Coming In Big WWE Storyline?

Heyman later told his Tribal Chief that they have a problem in the form of Lesnar. Reigns wasn’t much concerned about the threat and said that when the time will be right, he will smash Lesnar, just like everybody else. But when Heyman informed him that Lesnar will be coming to Super SmackDown this week at Madison Square Garden, he started to worry. It’ll be interesting to see how things will fold out when these two titans meet in the ring.
Roman Reigns’ Title Match Announced For WWE Extreme Rules 2021
With the Universal Championship shot hanging in the balance, the feud between Edge and Seth Rollins is far from over. Following Edge’s win at Summerslam 2021, these two superstars will battle, once again on Super Smackdown in the potential main event of the night. That being said, WWE Universe is elated to be a part of the second installment of The Architect vs. The Rated-R Superstar.
Edge vs. Rollins II was made, official after last week’s SmackDown saw Cesaro defeat Rollins by DQ when Rollins used a steel chair. Rollins taunted Edge by using his multiple during the match. Then in the post-match attack on Cesaro, Edge made the save for the Swiss Superman, and later in a backstage segment, he challenged Rollins in a rematch. The veteran claimed that he would burn Rollins down one more time at MSG and the situation would be far worse than what happened at SummerSlam 2021.
WWE Smackdown Preview (10/09/21): Contract Signing segment
Bianca Belair vs. SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch has been announced for the WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view, last week. The post-Summerslam edition hosted a number-one contender’s Fatal-4-Way elimination match won by Belair who was obligated to get a title shot from Lynch.
During a confrontation, The MAN denied giving Belair that title shot. Then WWE Officials made the match for the upcoming PPV, in a backstage segment. This will be Lynch’s first title defense after quickly winning the belt from Belair at WWE SummerSlam on August 21. Plus, both the women will put their signature to the paper in a contract signing segment on this week’s Smackdown from MSG.

In more news for the show, several Raw Superstars are being advertised to make their appearances: WWE Champion Bobby Lashley, RAW Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair, RAW Tag Team Champions Randy Orton, and Riddle, The New Day, Drew McIntyre. John Cena is also booked in a tag team match against WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos by teaming up with The Usos. Also, Sasha Banks could make her return on this very special broadcast on FOX from the World’s Most Famous Arena.
