One of the headliners for this weekend’s AEW Full Gear 2021 was Daniel Bryan (now Bryan Danielson) competing against another former WWE Star Rusev (now Miro). Bryan ended up becoming the winner of the match to get a future title match opportunity.

Near the end of this match at AEW Full Gear 2021, Bryan Danielson and Miro battled on the top rope. Danielson was able to connect with a tornado DDT on his opponent. He then locked in a guillotine chokehold submission until the referee stopped the match and called for the match bell. As a result, Bryan won the match via submission.

How AEW Full Gear 2021 eliminator tourney finale was set?

On his way to the finals at AEW Full Gear 2021, Bryan Danielson defeated Dustin Rhodes and Eddie Kingston in the first two rounds. Miro fka Rusev wasn’t supposed to be in the tourney but then he was a late entrant after news broke that Jon Moxley (fka Dean Ambrose in WWE) was sent to an inpatient care to an alcohol treatment program. Miro was announced to be his replacement and he defeated Orange Cassidy on AEW Dynamite to make it to the final match.

Bryan Danielson will be with AEW for three more years to follow and he is allowed to work in the indie promotion. So, the fans can expect him to become the AEW World Champion and move along in the indie scenes to defend that belt soon after AEW Full Gear 2021. Wrestling Observer noted the following regarding Bryan’s contract situation with AEW,

“He can work indies like Jon Moxley has on his deal, but in one case that we know of, there was an indie promotion he was interested in, in a market AEW is going but hasn’t been and Tony Khan did ask him not to work in that market on an indie show until after the AEW show in that market because they wanted his first date in the market since WWE.”
