WWE Raw has kicked off the inaugural RK-Bro-Nament from this week. This is a term that’s being used to crown the new number-one contenders to RAW Tag Team Champions Randy Orton and Riddle. Four teams have been included into the tourney to pick one who’d challenge the champions for the titles, next.

In the opening match of the tournament, The Street Profits – Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins defeated AJ Styles and Omos via Count-Out after tensions between AJ and Omos.

With the WWE Raw tag team champions sitting at ringside, Omos was focused on destroying Dawkins rather than picking up the win even after AJ was prohibiting him from doing so. This allowed Omos to get counted out as he was attacking Dawkins at ringside. Thus, the Street Profits moved to the next round of the tourney.

Final set to crown WWE Raw tag team champions’ challengers

In the second match of RK-Bro-Nament, The Mysterios – Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio defeated The Alpha Academy – Otis and Chad Gable to advance to the next round. Gable hit Dom with a big Dragon-screw leg whip in the corner. Gable went to the top for the moonsault but he had to land on his feet as Dominik rolled him up out of nowhere for the pin without ever tagging.

One-half of WWE Raw tag team champions Riddle wanted to interview The Mysterios once the match was over but he ended up digesting a clothesline from Otis in the middle of the ring.

Next week’s WWE RAW will now feature The Street Profits vs. The Mysterios, with the winners becoming the new number-one contenders to Orton and Riddle. No specific update is available on when the RAW Tag Team Titles will be defended, but it looks like the tournament winners will get their championship opportunity at the WWE Day 1 pay-per-view on Saturday, January 1.

Team RK-Bro won the WWE Raw tag team titles from AJ Styles and Omos back at Summerslam. They successfully defended against the former champions at WWE Crown Jewel in late October and then against Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode, last week. For now, the hunt for their next challengers continues.
