South Africa has been fined a 20% match fee for maintaining a slow over-rate during the second ODI against India. ICC released a statement to confirm the news.
Match referee Andy Pycroft imposed the sanction after South Africa fell one over short after time allowances were taken into consideration.

South Africa has taken an unassailable lead of 2-0 in 3-match series
“In accordance with Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to minimum over-rate offences, players are fined 20 per cent of their match fee for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time,” the ICC released a statement.
Interestingly this series is not part of the ODI Super League otherwise South Africa would have faced points deduction as well.

“On-field umpires Marais Erasmus and Adrien Holdstock, third umpire Bongani Jele and fourth umpire Allauhudien Palekar levelled the charge,” the release added.
“Bavuma pleaded guilty to the offence and accepted the proposed sanction, so there was no need for a formal hearing,” it added further.
On Friday South Africa chased down the target of 288 at the loss of only 3 wickets as the hosts wrapped up the series with one match to go. Like the first ODI, the proteas dominated the Indian bowling attack.
First Quinton de Kock (78) and Janneman Malan (91) gave India a century stand then skipper Temba Bavuma, Aiden Markram, and Rassie Van der Dussen chipped in to take the hosts home without much discomfort.
The visitors put on a total of 287/6 with the help of a terrific knock of Rishabh Pant 85(71). Skipper KL Rahul also scored a fifty while cameos from Shardul Thakur and R Ashwin helped India to reach a par score.
Earlier in the first ODI, the story was pretty much similar as South Africa posted a total of 296/4 with the help of hundreds by Temba Bavuma and Rassie van der Dussen. The duo put a double century stand for the 4th wicket.
In response, India was well on course for the chase but they collapsed from 138/1 to 265/8 as none of their middle-order batters could capitalize on the solid start given by Kohli and Dhawan.
